Events - for the community

At Music in Action charity we provide cultural experiences to communities and bring musical workshops featuring the artists that perform in our concerts to schools, nursing homes and other institutions. We also provide full music bursaries to disadvantaged children.

By purchasing our concert tickets you are directly supporting our outreach, and giving us the opportunity to bring the joy of music to more lives.

Artists

Our first concert series features an exceptional line-up of internationally renowned artists, including Harriet Mackenzie, Peter Donohoe, Sophie Bevan, Sir Willard White, Nicola Eimer, Xuefei Yang, as well as the English Chamber Orchestra, Celoniatus Ensemble and Kosmos Ensemble.

Outreach

Today, Music in Action presents classical concerts in cities across the UK and Europe, including London, Cambridge, Oxford, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Bristol, Dublin, Edinburgh, Munich, Berlin, and Bamberg.

Music in Action’s Mission and Vision

Music in Action creates opportunities for people from all backgrounds and of all ages to interact together with musical experiences that inspire, educate and support wellbeing.

Our vision is to transform and enrich lives and communities through music.

In 2025-6, concert series will be established across in England and further afield in Bristol, Cambridge, London, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Lancaster and Cumbria.

Social Access Bursaries for children

Music in Action’s social access scheme has expanded to 96 children. The impact report into years 1 and 2 demonstrated that music could help children’s wellbeing.

The reports by headmaster Iain George said that all the children who took part showed developments in wellbeing, concentration powers or self esteem.

Music in Action is providing 96 bursaries for children at Janvrin School, D’Auvergne School and 2 more schools in 2024-26. Music in Action is seeking funding to go into a fourth school.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT

Music in Action are sending out a message of hope to children, schools and residents in care homes. Our current main initiatives are concerts to boost spirits for those in long term care in residential care homes, and the education of children through outreach work and the social access bursaries.

We are in urgent need of donations in order to continue our important community outreach initiatives. Thank you to those who have already donated.
